When happy, success-based professional detailers get together, we mentor each other and share information. Finding a group that is truly open and transparent can be tough. Many detailers keep their detailing knowledge close to their chest and don’t share.
If you can join a group that is dedicated to sharing and focused not only on detailing skills, but business and marketing too, you will grow as a professional detailer, business owner and person.
Many of my best friends are right here in our industry, and there are many more amazing people among us. It really is awesome to see how many are passionate about helping others succeed and helping the industry grow. There are a handful of very well organized groups out there that provide amazing mentoring and support, but when you join these groups, you can’t just make withdrawals, you must make deposits too!
In 2006, myself and small group of close like-minded detailers formed what became The Detail Mafia, a family made up of an exclusive group of professional detailers who are committed to improving the businesses and lives of its members through support, mentoring, continued education and industry outreach. Today that group has grown to over 150 dedicated members. It’s not a group for everyone, but I’m very proud of what we have achieved together.
