Teenage entrepreneurs start car-washing business in Borehamwood
Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 02:16PM TWO budding teenage entrepreneurs have got their sponges at the ready after starting a business washing cars in Borehamwood.
James Stowell and Josh Abrahams, both 13, started the business, called JJ Car Cleaning, last week to help keep them busy through the school summer holidays.
The boys have proved popular with residents and last week cleaned cars at Borehamwood Police Station, in Elstree Way.
James, who goes to Aldenham School, Aldenham Road, in Elstree, said: “Last Monday we were chatting about what we could do for the holidays and a policeman was standing there and said why not do a paper round or clean cars.
“On Wednesday last week we happened to see another police officer who was arresting someone and we asked him if we could clean his car.
“He said come the next day to the station and we did and got to clean their cars.
“We allow people to pay us what they want and some pay about £3 or £4 but we also got £8 for cleaning a Mercedes.”
Josh, who goes to Hertswood School, in Cowley Hill, Borehamwood, said: “A lot of people have said it is great that we are taking the initiative and many have said ‘Good on you boys’.
“We started off with just buckets but now we have sponges and everything we need to do the job.
“I think people like to see kids keeping busy over the holidays and staying out of trouble.”
What bright young men...youth doing some good things!

That's cute. I think it's good for entrepreneurs to start young in order to get valuable business experience such as customer service, advertising, expenses, dealing with obstacles.
